My mom is such a boy mom. The funny thing is, she has just one son and three daughters. For years, I kept saying she treated my elder brother differently, but somehow I was always the “stubborn” or “controversial” one for pointing it out. Fast forward to now: I graduated, completed my service, and got a job. My younger sister just finished school and is working too, while my other sister is still in school. Meanwhile, my almost-30-year-old elder brother says he does not want to work under anybody, but he has no problem asking my mom and even his sisters for money. For the longest time, my mom enabled it. She kept giving him upkeep money and hoping something would change. Now she has finally said, “No more. Go and work.” The house has been tense ever since. I am just watching everything play out because I said my piece years ago. Life has a funny way of proving a point. I used to be the “controversial” one. Now my mom is coming to me for advice. 😂
