Took my parents over 30 years to realize that having 7 kids was a bad idea, and they only realized that because I didn’t get married as they expected (they intended putting their responsibilities on my hubby). Since that didn’t work and they’re regretting and I told them when we were just 2 kids, they kept birthing. Now they can’t even give their kids 2 square meals.
