Growing up, I was outspoken, never afraid to confront adults who mistreated me. This earned me labels like rude, disrespectful, or “you nor sabi talk.” By my 20s, I changed to fit in, seeking acceptance and to avoid being seen as a bad influence. Now, in my late 20s, I regret it. I’ve lost myself, letting too much slide. If I were still that bold, unapologetic person, people wouldn’t dare play on my face.
