My mom left her 38 year old marriage, in 2023. My dad has been raging for 3 years now. He couldn’t believe it. She left quietly, dropped (a lot) money for him and no, she’s not dragging the family house (that she built). What my dad did to my mom has scarred me for life. Domestic violence, chronic cheating, etc. My mom is a quiet and religious woman. Always scared of my dad, never talked back at him. Always knelt down to give him money, food etc. Mom carried the family financially all through. She bought his cars and clothes, feeding, paid children’s school fees (all private schools) etc. In public he takes all the glory. Barely provided. He fell terribly ill in 2021, his family (that hates her) never helped pay the 9m naira hospital bill, mom did. After he recovered, he still beat my 65year old mom and disfigured her jaw. She left.
