I remember growing up, there was always a time each year when balloons were a big trend for kids. You’d pay 5 naira to pick a number, hoping to win the biggest balloon. What we didn’t know was that the winning number had already been taken out. I asked my aunt why they did this, & she said that if someone won the biggest balloon, no one would want to keep playing since the main prize was gone. It made me realize that sometimes life is rigged just enough to keep you in the game.
