I asked my boyfriend of almost 2years if he was open to court marriage. Oga said over his dead body, and I don’t intend getting married without a registry wedding. Anyways we broke up, and he’s telling me how disappointed he is that I broke up with him over that. He doesn’t understand that even if my intentions are pure I still need that security for myself and my kids. This is the most hurtful choice I’ve made but I’m standing by it.

Apparently the court marriage isn’t the issue for my now ex, he reached out to ask if I changed my mind and I insisted that I still wanted a court marriage. Still trying to come to a compromise, I suggested he even decides the terms of the prenup. But he told me plainly, he’s only interested in traditional marriage, he’s not even going to do a white wedding. Turns out he doesn’t want any official wedding certificate. Anyways I’ve counted my loss, mourning my relationship and moving on. I ain’t settling.
