I was initially hesitant to share, fearing I might come off as ungrateful, but here goes nothing. Throughout my life, I’ve faced envy, hate, bullying, and slander. Moreover, my academic achievements and personal successes have often been unfairly attributed solely to my looks, with remarks like ‘it’s just because she’s pretty,’ diminishing my hard work and dedication. I sometimes struggle with impostor syndrome. Dealing with tactless comments and toxic attention has been a recurring issue. And when people show me kindness or do me favors, I can’t help but wonder if it’s just because of my appearance; hoping they can see the beauty inside me beyond the exterior.
